support them!

Its the holidays so I am not around. (sorries) But just writing my 2011 manifest to myself and getting over a horrendous head cold! (honestly, where's the muthafuggin shot for the cold!?? - I will pay $30 for that!)
Sooo I am sacrificing a great social opportunity to get bed rest, and water so I could drink all day tomorrow (after the old year to-do list check-offs, of course) and bring the new year with my beloveds! (judge) I DONT CARE- its going to be a new year!

And a new year involves a LOT of self-reflection, but I shall not bore you with those details. (I don't need you in my head...) But for one thing, I think this past year has shown me the innovations of grabbing and owning your profession, the world and your life path!

2010 EXPERIENCE GAINED: When you lose yourself, make sure you learn from that lose. So it's only a momentary lapse on your climb UP in the world! Inspired by these kids, let's honor our dreams/aspirations and don't stop hustlin.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

...true story...

I heard the funniest statement about female and male interactions from a new found friend and it got me thinking.

They said:
'Women have it so easy. They get into the club for free; they get drinks specials all night; and if they cute- dudes will buy them drinks. Plus all they have to do is sit back and let guys approach to them to show interest."

Honestly, I was just baffled. Like...(Damn)...TRUE.. But is it really all that simple for females?? Like when it comes to guys, #1 concern is competition-right? Like guys think that 'there's always something better or they always have a side piece'. We have guy friends- we see what they do/ how they talk when they're single.

I say why the hell not! Come to me. Because sometimes that's all the power we have in the male-female interactions. With all the 'competition out there', the least a guy can do is approach us and put himself out there a little first.

But ladies think about this- after a little back and forth, my friend say:
"The least girls could do if we have to approach them is give us a sign they are interested. So we're not standing to the side wondering and approach the wrong person
."

VALID POINT AGAIN huh?

LESSON LEARNED: Male/female interactions ain't easy. We all have our hang ups. Get over it, and go after it!

technology update!

I am not the most tech savvy person out there, but I like to be in the know for work purposes. A kind colleague of mine shared this amazing youtube vid with me.

To begin-  We have ALL heard the rumors that Verizon will be getting the iPhone very soon... (who knows- its been said since 2009) But... I mean BoyGenius said it, so it HAS to be true now, right?

But I digress, so apparently there is this new app coming out, which for language idiots like myself is like a God-sent. For me, its like a new-found freedom! Now I can travel anywhere with no fear!

It will now be available on the iPhone (duh) which will soon be available on both Verizon and AT&T network phones which can be used internationally... They both have strong international business networks... (get where I'm going?)

-Good- Since I don't want to spoil the surprise--->just press play... (and thank me later) :0)

LESSON LEARNED: Technology is boundless! And its opening up windows and doors to provide new experiences for all different types of people.

history

I am NOT the biggest rap fan alive, but I do have to give respect when it is due. Congrats Onika "Nicki Minaj"  Maraj for making history a few times over!! And shout out to my favoritist blog- theybf - for bringing the history to the forefront.

Below is a copy paste of the blog copy (means writing in the ad world) and the directly like to theybf post page.

Releasing your debut album the same week as a Kanye West album has to be nerve-wrecking, but Nicki Minaj's highly anticipated debut album did score the No. 2 spot.  Pink Friday moved 375,000 copies, taking the second spot to Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy which sold 496,000 copies.
Despite Nicki announcing she made history with the most albums sold first week for a female rapper, the strong debut of Pink Friday actually places Nicki as the second-highest first week sales of any femcee.  She falls behind Lauryn Hill who sold 423,000 copies of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill the first week.  For those keeping score in the Lil' Kim versus Nicki Minaj battle, Lil Kim’s highest first week sales was in the year 2000 with The Notorious Kim pushing 230,000 units.
Nicki already made history three times this year.  With "Your Love, " Nicki became the first female hip-hop No. 1 to hit Billboard's rap singles chart since Missy's "Work It" in 2002. And she's also the female rapper with the most chart entries in one year on Billboard's 100 — she's had eight so far despite most entries being features.
