I know! It's been a while... Took over a year to get inspired enough to write a post! That's crazy, but at least I received my epiphany......

I've been exploring new things and checking out if the grass is really greener on the other side.
Like digital perm folks... I just want what others have!

I'm 25 (lawd) and I feel really, really oldER. Like- I actually feel the responsibility of life shift and my focus lenses are clearing up. I'm ready to *click*snap* and capture the moments of life!

I feel so old because I have been saying the "you remember when..." phrase a lot recently. Liiiike- remember when gum use to cost 25 cents?? Those were the DAYS!

I am NOT the biggest rap fan alive, but I do have to give respect when it is due. Congrats Onika "Nicki Minaj"  Maraj for making history a few times over!! And shout out to my favoritist blog- theybf - for bringing the history to the forefront.

Releasing your debut album

 the same week as a Kanye West album has to be nerve-wrecking, but Nicki Minaj's highly anticipated debut album did score the No. 2 spot.  Pink Friday moved 375,000 copies, taking the second spot to Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy which sold 496,000 copies.

Despite Nicki announcing she made history with the most albums sold first week for a female rapper, the strong debut of Pink Friday actually places Nicki as the second-highest first week sales of any femcee.  She falls behind Lauryn Hill who sold 423,000 copies of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill the first week.  For those keeping score in the Lil' Kim versus Nicki Minaj battle, Lil Kim’s highest first week sales was in the year 2000 with The Notorious Kim pushing 230,000 units.

Nicki already made history three times this year.  With "Your Love, " Nicki became the first female hip-hop No. 1 to hit Billboard's rap singles chart since Missy's "Work It" in 2002. And she's also the female rapper with the most chart entries in one year on Billboard's 100 — she's had eight so far despite most entries being features.

so today was another long day full of hypertension in my heart and high stress. so on days like this I like to come home to a bottle of wine. Unfortunately, today- I couldn't make that dream come true, but this video makes me realize. No matter WHERE I am- at a park with only one tree; a really swanky party; or even on the subway- I can always open a class of wine as long as I have closed-toe shoes on!

this is just too funny NOT to share! sad moment, but the characters in this make it amazing! Sad the news edited the segment this way and didn't ask the poignant questions for a well-round segment. BUT really though its just too funny to care. 

BROOKLYN! the home of the greats

I went to a great fashion show at the Brooklyn Museum that showcased successful and up and coming designers from or currently living in the great borough of BROOKLYN! I really enjoyed the show and got inspired. thought I should share.

hip hop was just that great of a big deal
